Spring is officially in the air. The crisp air and floral scents from all the beautiful flowers in bloom instantly lift your spirits. This is the time of year I love to open my windows and air out the home that has been closed up tight all winter. While cracking the windows and airing out the space is a good start, there are several ways to bring the fresh aromas and aesthetics of spring indoors.
Bring in Plants and Fresh Cut Flowers
Plants and fresh cut flowers can liven up any space instantly. It is, perhaps, one of the easiest ways to bring the outside in and enjoy the vibrant nature of spring while sitting on the couch. Opt for brightly colored flowers in a variety of different vases. My favorite flowers are pink and orange tulips and I absolutely love them in my collection or milk glass vases. This will brighten up your space and make everything feel fresh and exciting. If you have children and want to make it a family affair, planting some seedlings or herbs on the windowsill or kitchen countertop is a great way to experience the spring season together. Your family will enjoy watching your seedlings sprout and the herbs will add a fragrant aroma to your home that makes your mind think of spring.
Use Fruit as a Décor Item
Having a bowl of fresh citrus fruits can dress up any dining room or kitchen with ease. The brightly colored fruits are gorgeous to look at, and it makes crafting springtime cuisine super easy and convenient, too. You can use a natural color wood bowl or white to really make the color of the citrus fruits pop.
Swap out Linens and Accent Colors
In your bedroom, get rid of the heavy winter covers in favor of bright, light and airy looking linens. You can also swap out hand towels, bath towels and kitchen towels with pastel options to bring a hint of the season into every room. You can change the entire look of your living room by switching out accent pillows for something with a bit more color. Yellow, light blue and oranges will evoke a feeling of the warm, spring weather.

To get your home spelling like a fresh spring day, consider using essential oils that evoke a feeling of warm weather or floral scents. Blood orange and lemongrass are two diffuser oils that will fill your home with a fresh sweet smell all day and night. If essential oils aren’t your thing, you can opt for lighting scented candles that offer citrus notes, or cleaner scents. Citrus scents seem to energize your senses and make your home smell amazing.
